Wednesday, beginning before 4 am with discomfort throughout the day, dissolved into a long engagement with the an online game. When i was introduced to Blaseball late last week it tickled my memory, "This is mildly entertaining but what was that game...", kept up as my response until dug up Kingdom of Loathing, found my character and blasted through years of accrued gifts as i recalled how to play. Christine corrected my descriptions of both from Surrealist to Dadaist. Fandom, i am embarrassed to say to my Dreamwidth friends, is not my thing, so the engagement in Blaseball just doesn't click for me. But i've managed to completely avoid any player vs player engagement in KoL and find it a just fine diversion.

Grousing about chronic common health issues and current flare. )

Meanwhile, temperatures the past few nights have gotten down to 39°F. Well, it's better than the two 30°F nights around April 21st. I did get many of my okra planted Thursday night along with long neglected greens seedlings and the tromboncino squash.

I am confused by the changed CDC mask guidance for vaccinated people Read more... )

Color=Green: Hmmm... out of all your close friend girls which one cud u see yourself bein in a relationship wit? (Use there nickname or initials!)

Yikes, at the spelling. This seems moot: Christine.

Town=guantanamo bay: Kumar: Mr. President, this is weed, do you like to get high?

OK, so I'm President, i must be high. But, no, my perceptual and emotional adventures are enough of a roller coaster without hel. Although, there is something about smoking half a pack of cigarettes, one after another, lighting one on the last glow of the previous, that i fondly remember. But generally i was damned depressed when i started the pack.....

Kitchen Implement=Can opener: you got expelled? for doing what?

Expelled from.... well, the "in crowd." Probably because i walked around with my nose in a book and generally hid. Expelled from Eden, inheriting inner demons with my inherited privilege. (Oh, but i live in California, another type of Eden.) Expelled from innocence... er, actually, i think depression had too much to do with innocence, in a way. Expelled from youth by the passage of time. Expelled from ....

Ecosystem=Coastal Marsh: And was a lot of your work in—in Lab Biology or was it Field Biology or a combination?

It would be cool to do fieldwork in physics, but for nuclear physics, it's a lab. I have wondered what would have happened if i had had mentors who really could help me pick a direction in choosing a discipline. What if i had chosen a science with field work? Would that have off-set the effects of depression in grad school? Would i have just coped better and taken much longer to confront my mental demons? Dunno.

Tree=Willow: Lantrip's photos of you are beyond all your other photogs w.r.t. setting, lighting, empathy, sexiness, and plain, all-round visual appeal. When it comes to capturing the Willow phenomenon, that boy is one in a million. True or false?

False. No -- True. Actually. Both.

Operating system= Mac OS 10.2 jaguar: Are Idiomatic Expressions for Idiots?

I don't think so. I think they are incredibly powerful ways of seeing into a culture's frames and history, and give us some insight into how we think.

"Moving at the Speed of Procrastination" is my LJ's title. Apparently based on that title, someone writes to ask:

[Dude] is releasing his new book next week, [N steps to Git-R-Done] , which gives simple, practical advice to help you organize and become more successful. I wanted to see if you would like to receive a copy to read and review on Moving at the Speed of Procrastination. -. You may know [Dude] as the Get it Done Guy from his popular Quick and Dirty Tips podcast. I've put together a microsite with tons of [Dude]'s tips, downloadable chapters, videos, banners, and more, to help get the word out and get some good buzz going about the book, so please feel free to post any of the images, graphics, banners, or copy on your blog:

[site]

There's also some Q&A with [Dude] and some great audio if you'd like to share them with your readers. We're really excited about the release of this book and I think you'll really enjoy it. I am here if you have any questions and you are able to post, please let me know.

Thanks so much,

[the promoter]

Would anyone be amused by my reading this and blogging about it? Not, NOW, obviously, but sometime after i get back from Ohio....
